collaboration with Anthony Burrill to raise funds for Cancer Research UK

‘Advice for Joyful Living - IT’S FUN, THAT’S WHY!’ is a piece of art that I have co-created with renowned Graphic Artist Anthony Burrill to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

This project was inspired by the loss of my incredible mum to Cancer in 2023, and I could think of nothing more beautiful than to pass on what my mum taught me.

To inspire others to inspire others. To lean into the lighter side of life. To follow your gut. To see and be joyful every day. To belly laugh. To pick the brighter colour. To be unapologetically you. To eat dessert. To book that trip. To follow your imagination.

Her joyful approach to life inspired all of those around her, and served as a reminder that you don’t always need a reason to do something that will ultimately bring you joy. My mum certainly didn’t, but if you do need a reason, it can simply be ‘IT’S FUN, THAT’S WHY!’.

I reached out to Anthony Burrill to help me, and in a joyful moment of my own, he agreed, and the journey began, something I will be forever grateful for. Together we wrote and designed the art you see today.

Originally created to give something back to everyone who helped me through 2023, I started to experience an influx of ‘where can I buy your art?’ messages, and then a pop-up was created on Henrietta Street in Covent Garden, generously given to me by Shaftesbury Capital.
